Yes, and no. Bambu Lab released a software update for their printers in early 2025 that locked down the printers from 3rd-party plugins and hardware. By default, Bambu Lab 3D printers do not have LAN Only or Developer modes enabled.
LAN Only Mode and Developer Mode DISABLED: OctoEverywhere’s Bambu Connect plugin can access the Bambu Lab 3D printers in read-only mode. This means the Bambu Connect plugin can view the printer’s status and state, print stats, and access the webcam. The plugin can add or remove files, or control the printer to start, stop, or pause prints.
This includes Gadget AI; Gadget cannot smart-pause your printer if it detects a failure when LAN Only Mode and Developer Mode are disabled.
LAN Only Mode and Developer Mode ENABLED: OctoEveryhwhere’s Bambu Connect plugin has read and write access to the Bambu Lab 3D printer. This means the Bambu Connect plugin has full access to the 3D printer, including reading stats and state, managing files, viewing the webcam, and controlling it.
