OctoEverywhere provides a free cloud MCP server for 3D Printing, usable by any AI assistant or agent that supports MCP. It’s secure and private by default, and is extremely easy to set up. OctoEverywhere has a Privacy Commitment to protect your data. OctoEverywhere’s remote MCP server works with any AI assistant or agent that supports remote MCP HTTP servers and OAuth authentication. We designed our server to be as compatible as possible.

Set up Your 3D Printer MCP VS Code Server

  1. Open Visual Studio Code
  2. Click on the search bar at the top, enter > mcp:add server
  3. Select the HTTP transport.
  4. Enter the following URL and press Enter.
    1. https://octoeverywhere.com/api/mcp
  5. Name your 3D printer MCP server whatever you wish, then press Enter.
  6. Select to add the MCP server to the Global space.
  7. VS Code will show you the MCP json config file and then will prompt you to authenticate the MCP server with OctoEverywhere.
  8. Select “Allow” on the authentication prompt.
  9. Select “Open” on the external website prompt.
  10. Log in to OctoEverywhere
  11. Done!
